Toyota. Toyota. Porsche. Porsche.  If you don't feel like reading, those were the class winners from the 86th running of the 24 hours of Le Mans race.  After the winners were announced however, the LMP-2 class winning Toyota team was stripped of its win due to some illegal parts that sped up pit-time, so the winners now officially read Toyota. Alpine. Porsche. Porsche.

Two things to note from the winning Porsche teams:
1) The GTE AM winning Porsche is co-owned by Patrick Dempsey who was a podium finisher himself as a driver in 2015.  I guess McDreamy is more than just a pretty face on TV.
2) The Pink Pig Porsche has to be the coolest livery ever and it won the GTE Pro category.  The design came off the original Porsche 917/20 from 1971 that debuted this unique pig parts livery but crashed out in 1971.  I think there is a "when pigs fly" joke somewhere here?

When you drop your iPhone in a toilet, you might get a cheaper reconditioned phone from Apple but the opposite is true with these reconditioned Defenders from Land Rover.  To celebrate the 70th anniversary of LR, they are reconditioning late model defenders with an upgraded V8 but it will cost you a serious premium of $150k.  It might be hard to justify (and not for us in the U.S.) but these should keep people busy while waiting for the upcoming Defender (please don't screw it up LR!)

We Want This:

Want a comfortable luxury sedan with some serious sleeper power under $17k?  This 1999 E55 AMG is a lot of bang for the buck and these hand-built AMG motors have held up really well.  Although we'd prefer it in wagon form its hard not to get excited by it's $16,759 selling BaT price and only 40k miles on the clock.

The best $5 you will spend this weekend:

Continuing with the race theme this week, the 96th running of the famous Pikes Peak Hill Climb in Colorado will take place this Sunday.

For those not familiar, this dangerous mountainside race consists of a steep (7.2% average) hill climb up 12.42 miles and over 156 turns, climbing 4,720 vertical ft to finish over 14,000 in elevation.  Each year a variety of classes compete including cars, trucks, motorcycles and quads.

The all time record was set in 2013 by Sébastien Loeb Loeb in a bonkers 875hp prototype Peugeot.  This year VW will attempt to break the electric record in the pictured VW I.D. R.

For the cost of a beer, you can stream it here this weekend.
